1963 or '64 CB77 Fork Disassembly

I've pulled the forks from the trees and want to take them apart (for sandblasting/repainting the sliders, to replace fork seals, and to see what it looks like w/out the chrome rings.) but it seems a little more difficult than my old bike.

I was hoping to find a quick run-down of how-to-do, but it's not here. I have a parts manual, but it's falling short of helpful in this case.

It is my HOPE that the chrome rings unthread so as to make the clips more accessable. The manual shows threads on the tops of the sliders, but so far, I can;t budge them. In fact, they appear punched on, but those could also be spanner holes.

Can someone please offer a quick how-to?

Those are spanner holrs.
The parts do screw off and you will need a spanner or one of those rubber tools that grip. ..........lm
