Another little tale ..
Friend at University had a CB250 K0 which even though only a couple of years old had
rotted the backs of the silencers from the inside out ( too many short trips ? .. who knows ).
In an attempt to reduce the din he inserted a length of pipe up the middle, wrapped the outer
in kitchen foil and filled the void with concrete. This added several pounds weight but did make
it quiet again ... at least till blatting down the M6 ( main freeway heading south to London from
the North West ) when he suddenly realised it had got loud again.
Pulls up and found he now had a shortened non-reverse cone megga on one side ...
strangely he didn't go back to see where it had gone or ( more likely ) what had hit it.
.. and we wondered why people thought we were irresponsible...
