CA77 Dream front/ rear shocks

Post by choctaw » Wed Dec 09, 2015 7:18 pm

I have a question that may be obvious. I have disassembled my front and rear shocks(.Not counting the springs over the shock), do the cylinders suppose to have Resistance just like a regular shock absorb-er or does it only use the spring. thanks in advance.

The springs hold the weight, the shocks dampen the movement. There will be minimal resistance pushing the shaft in, resistance while trying to pull it out fast. Most modern shocks are gas filled causing the resistance to pushing them in, but back then, and until gas filled shocks became the norm, automotive shocks operated the same way.
