CB77 "Disk Breaks"

Post by spirit » Mon Jan 06, 2014 10:40 pm

There was a thread on this in this section - I am assuming we mean "disc brakes". Nota bene I saw a '67 Super Hawk back in the early 70's fitted with a complete CB450 front end at what was then Honda of Manhattan. The steering stem is the same diameter. The guy also had the CB450 instruments (separate tach/speedo) and the handlebar mounted instrument lights. Don't know about the steering stops, I've forgotten that.

The CB77 front drum brake is more than adequate for street use.

Almost any disc brake is better. Maybe even a CB200 setup.

Just a bit of history here. My pref would be to have a nice thinned single front disc with HH pads - you'd NEVER need more stopping with those tire sizes...
