Front fork stops??

Post by carlluvscorinne » Wed Jul 26, 2006 1:22 pm

Hi All: I'm Wondering what there should be for front fork stops on my 1964 CB77? My handlebars & forks will turn left to right untill they hit the tank with the upper fork covers. This dosen't seem normal, so I figured I should ask for help! Thanx, Carl

Carl, Yes, There should be stops cast into the lower trees. Has someone removed them? Or have the trees been changed to somthing else? It's a strange deal you have here, let us know what you find. Steve Greer

Hey Steve: Yes it was strange, Turns out somehow the tab that is cast into the frame has been ripped off (the tab that goes through the steering damper, then the fork stops on the steering stem hit this to stop). I am going to weld a peice of bar stock to the frame. Thanx Again for the help though. None of the photos in the manuals show a clean shot of the tab on the frame, so i never noticed it was missing. Good thing the tank wasn't on yet, or I'd be fixin the chrome tank panel too.
Thanx Again, Carl
