CB77 Rear Shock Adjustment?

Post by Loudo » Thu May 28, 2009 11:21 am

I couldn't find anything in the archives on this topic...how do I change the preload setting on my rear shocks? Currently they are on the shortest setting giving me the least damping available, which might be fine for consistently smooth curvy roads but I'd like a little more travel right now. I seem to recall reading something about this but I don't know where...is there a special tool needed? I hope not.

If they are free of rust and corrosion, you can often just put on a leather or rubber glove and turn the adjuster by hand. The original tool kit had a hook wrench for this purpose. You can purchase hook wrenches in various sizes that will work. --Randall
