high speed wobble

Post by sotxbill » Sat Apr 18, 2009 12:29 pm

On a 66 cl77.. I have a bit of wobble at speeds of 70mph and above. Any quick ideals where to start looking? Its not enough to get away from me, but enough to make me wonder about going faster.

This bike has dunlop street tires on it at the moment. Thanks, Bill

Bill, many possibilities. Wheels true? Balnaced? Headset bearings adusted properly? Forks bent? Frame bent? Swingarm bent? swingarm bushings worn? Swingarm bolt tight? Axle bolts tight? Tires beaded up correctly? That should give you some things to check.

I can see a bit of wobble in the rim alignment. Can a dealer adjust the spokes to true up the rims??

Its not much, but I think its enough to cause my problem. Thanks,Bill

Some dealers do, some don't. If you want it done correctly, remove tire from rim, or have dealer do so, and true both up and down, and side to side.
