I am wanting to take the baffles out of my mufflers to inspect and try to clean them, I removed the small bolt that screws into the end of the muffler housing but the baffles wouldn't budge. Can anyone tell me how to go about removing the baffles without damaging them? I read in my service manual that you should take them out periodically and clean them, but it really didn't tell me how to do it!
Thanx so much for any help you can offer me.....Anita
Muffler Baffle Removal
I had the same problem with my Dream, I used a little penetrating oil and let it sit a day or two, then with a little twisting back and forth they finally came loose. Be a careful with the force or the center pin will break loose, then you better have enough exposed to grip with pump pliers and you will probably have to replace the baffle after removal. If you destroy it, I think LM has NOS/OEM baffles so just contact him, his prices are very fair.
