does anybody know how to synchronize the dual carbs on my CL 72, or is it even needed???

Yes, they do need to be synchronized. <br />First remove the air filter and inlet hose to carbs. Then make sure the slides are both in the same place at rest. You can do this by inserting a piece of metal round stock of the same size into the carb inlet and under the slides. (just to see if they are the same position) If they are:<br />Then stick your finger and thumb into both carb inlets and very slowly twist the throttle, to see if they are opening at the same time. If they are not:<br />The adjusters are on top of the carb, where the cable enters. Also make sure the slides do not stick. A very, very fine emory cloth will help to polish the slides, if they are sticking.
