Weird Problems.
Weird Problems.Ok so lately on my 1965 Honda CL77 (305) when you roll on the throttle a little bit it has been sputtering like on cylinder is going in and out on fireing untill you get up to a higher RPM (i wish it had a tack so i could tell you exacts). So I was thinking pilot jet, I recently soaked the carbs in carb cleaner over night and rebuilt them, so i pulled it off and shot some cleaner around and pulled the jet out cleaned it up put it back on, and it ran great it still did it to some exstent but not as bad. I let it set overnight and started it up this afternoon around 5:00 and take it out for a spin, now it runs great at low throttle about to 1/4 throttle then anything above that a cylinder stops fireing and won't fire unless you are under 1/2 throttle and at some pretty low RPMs. HELP ME OUT I am at a loss
Thanks Steve
Re: Weird Problems.I'm not sure what ya changed cause I don't have the carbs here.
I do rebuilds on the C/CA/CB/CL72/77 carbs and to a person they are pleased with the better results. Now for the big question! Are there rubber tubes on the float bowl vents?. .................lm
as soon as you told me that I went and put them on, went up the road and it died i adjusted the carbs on the side of the road it would run at idle but as soon as you gave it any gas it would die. I pulled them off, as they where the only thing that changed, and tried it. It still wouldn't start, I pulled the cap off the tank to check to make sure gas was in it and tried reserve but it didn't help. I tried it again (damn honda for not putting electric start on the scrambler) and it started, I drove it back home with the cap sorta off and it ran the same way. :( This thing runs great when its running right. What could cause it to change performance overnight?
