Needle jetNeedle jetG'day All
Can anyone tell me where I can get a couple of needle jets (not the needles) 16133-275-004 for my '77?? Also I could not find the reason why folks recommend not connecting the hoses on the overflow outlets, why is that recommended ?? Cheers ................ Blakey
Re: Needle jetThey are not overflow outlets.
They balance the atmosphere in the carb. Why do you need the needle jet?. .....lm
Re: balanceThe tubes MUST be OPEN.
If not that cylinder will have idle and speed problems. "LACK OF STEADY FUEL SUPPLY". ............lm

Blakey

Well I guess thats one way to look at it but what about the other orifice that vents to atmosphere ? (runs from the top of the chamber and out of the side of the body). I feel that the jet is worn since I have the needle clip on the top notch to stop fouling the plug (just the RHS carby), if it is raised I cannot get more than 4000 rpm and the plug fouls. I am trying to find a fault raised by others where power just falls off over about 4500 rpm. It idles well, the timing is correct by active timing light, and acceleration is strong until the revs go up. The points have no spindle wear and I have changed the coil and capacitor. The needle appears unworn compared to another but I will try another soon. The fuel filters are clean (all 3) and the float levels have been checked. Cheers ............. Blakey PS why leave the hoses off ??
Re: Needle jetBOTH VENTS ARE NECESSARY.
The needle jet is OUT OF THE PIC at HIGH REVS. You are using the MAIN JET. Check ALL R/S COIL connections. ???????? .......lm
Needle jet on CB77Umm, it's on the main jet at 4000rpm ??
I checked the coil connections when I changed the coil and capacitor. Cheers ................ Blakey PS Why leave the hoses off ??
