Carb Float ajustment help ca77 305

Post by nicoderm » Thu Aug 27, 2009 4:56 pm

I’m burning out spark plugs. The spark plugs are black. I was told that the carb might be running to rich. My question is how do i properly adjust the tab on the float. Does the tab get adjusted up or down? can someone explain how this adjustment can be done. thanks

Did you rebuild or clean the carb.?May want to invest in a service manual. Also, there are threads here on the site that cover this if you do some research.Depending on how high or low is how you bend the tab.Pretty simple.Should have the carb, on the bench and adjust accordingly.Unless your float is reallly out of wack I would say you probably have other issues with your carb. such as jetting issues, o-rings or cleaning of it.Could be other mechanical reasons also.
