sticking throttleAre you sure the carb slide isn't sticking? I had that on mine, if the two carb nuts are too tight it torques the body and the slide sticks open. When I loosened them a bit, it just snapped back in place.
clutch issueI had the same problem on my '63 which was frozen. I drove it a few miles (shifting with no clutch) up to a rural road where I could drive for several miles, varying the speed a lot and all of a sudden it popped loose and worked ok. Only problem, it did stick a bit each time it was started up again....
Bike insuranceDouble check again with Progressive, I have my policy with them for my '63 Dream, CB750, and a CT110. Liability only though, maybe that makes the difference.

You might want to do what I did, went to West Marine store and bought SAE threaded stainless steel Phillips oval head screws and re-tapped the holes for rotor and points covers (not the covers, the bodies). They look really good, polish up nicely and cost only a couple of bucks for all. I'm not a re...
