Yes, I did find the pin. Retro bikes had the pin in stock for 60 cents. Based on the fit of the new pin, it looks like a screw of the proper size would have worked. Thanks for your reply.

Different types of shift lever/pedalsMy 64 CA77 Dream has a shift lever with only a toe piece. I have noticed a number of Dreams with a combination lever - a toe piece in the front and pedal towards the rear. Which is correct? Or was the lever changed by Honda at some point in time?
