I may have found the cause: I noticed that the replacement pump I got has a wire mesh strainer, and another gasket, mine didn't. Closer inspection of the shaft revealed galling and the bushing on the pump side was elongated in the direction away from the crank. The lack of the strainer and gasket br...

anyone share the proper gap? I might be nitpicking at this... The proper gap is .028 if not mistaken. THE HONDA BOOK SHOWS .024 TO .028. SO WHAT'S WRONG WITH .025?. ..............lm Nothing's wrong with .025 now that I know the spec. My shop manual does not show the gap, or I haven't found it yet. ...

I might be nitpicking at this, but brand new D8HAs from Honda are gapped at .025 checking with a quality wire gauge. The protector sleeve was installed so no damage should have occured. The proper gap is .028 if not mistaken. Those are the correct plugs and they come ready to install. .................

If I'm not mistaken, I have read where premium fuel burns slower/cooler than the lower octanes. I just run plain ol Regular in my CLs. Correct.
