I spread the rings with my finger nails. I then use a plastic pusher (tool) to get the rings into the cylinders. ................lm Thanks Ed- Just wondering is it possible to install the rings on the pistons without a ring compressor? Rectifier question

Hello fellow " dreamers" i am not into electronics and stuff like that. I wonder how i can check (without difficult looking aperatus) if the thing is still working? Its the 3 wire connection 12Volts orange plates rectifier. Can it be replaced for something modern? Greetings from the netherlands. René
