Forgot one bit of info, I noticed you mentioned it. My CL77 came stock with the muffler. I changed it out clear back in 1967/68 to straight pipes and rarely used the baffles, still don't. Thanks for the info Loud Mouse, at least I can eliminate that as a problem. I put my own foam filter on the end of the Y tube and left it routed in the air cleaner area where it was before. Hope that will work. Sounds like its not a big deal.
