Apologies if this has been discussed previously, but a "re-fresh" for the new kids might be nice ? What is the definitive sprocket ratio/sizing on a CL77 for a comfortable 65-70mph cruising speed, please ??
Has anyone thrown different tyre sizing into the equation too ?

The 10mph per 1000 rpm equates to the factory spec...but with no revcounter, tricky to tell.
I'm guessing 90mph is extremely optimistic !!

Thanks Loud Mouse....all help appreciate. I have a reprint owners manual for CB72/CB77....I presume points & tappets settings will be the same as CL77 ??
It says points 0.12-0.16 & tappets 0.004 (set cold)....how's that sound ?

The bike I bought is a beautiful resto, but the previous owner did minimal mileage on it & it was a bit of a "show pony". I'm waiting on a clymer manual to arrive ...
