I've done as Graham suggested and filled the bottoms of the pistons with the 'mix'. I'm away for a couple of weeks now so will see if anything has happened on my return.....

Thanks for the input Graham. A friend has just pointed out that, because the crank is free to move down, I can push down on both pistons at the same time which may help as all the forces will be equal...this is right isn't it ????

Hi Malcolm..thanks for the info. That's exactly what I have..the angle and a 10mm bolt! One piston is about 6-8mm from TDC so hopefully I should be OK...??

I'll try the coke method...I never drink it.... and possibly now I know why!!

Thanks for the replies guys ......The motor is stripped on my bench with the lower crankcase removed. I have tried WD40 from the bottom end too. I think that heat is good advice so I will try that along with the penetrating mix and the bolt push method. Just need patience and some luck!! Watch this ...

CB72 stuck piston problem - again!

Hi all. I'm in the process of rebuilding a 1965 CB72 and I have the seemingly eternal problem of the pistons stuck fast in the cylinder. I've tried WD40 for a few days and now I have a mix of ATF and Acetone in the bores..but it doesn't seem to be going down at all. I've tried the method of pushing ...
