Breather hose routing solution?

I could not determine what the factory had in mind for inserting the crankcase breather hose through that 1/4" hole above the drive sprocket, so I added a plastic 90° fitting to the end of the breather hose. Found a stop switch boot (sort of)

Here's a pic of the "harness connector cover" I got from Cycle Terminal. I cut down the length a bit, and (at 22mm ID) it fits a little big, but not bad. Would love hear about other alternatives. Thanks!

I sent my fenders to Denver Bumper (who have since closed their doors) for re-chroming a couple of years back, and I am finally far enough along to mount them. They removed the front struts to get the job done, so I am just finding out that their process radically flattened out the fender's radius. ...

What is the purpose of this bracket?
