Re: 16 volts with silenium rectifier - too much?

Question - what would cause the rectifier to 'allow' so much voltage through it? I've got the 'low' output stator, and before the maximum output was 14v. GG The rectifier does nothing but convert the AC that the generator produces to DC. It does no regulation at all. Without the battery the output ...

Re: 16 volts with silenium rectifier - too much?

Here's a link to the CB77 Shop Manual. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eQNecwUmeEF61SURgKRjM4NPrNYucmRL/view?usp=sharing On page 153 is a graph relating the charging voltage and current to engine speed. Note that they have reflected the curves at low RPM. The voltage and current become negative bel...

Re: A pic of my Dream, ready for summer!

Yeah. The Honda shocks don't last 54 years. I bought a pair of Hagon aftermarket shocks for my CB77 that work well. However, if you have a machine shop in your garage it is possible to restore them. Graham Curtis who posts here as G-man has done it and posted some pictures. https://www.flickr.com/ph...

Re: NB066 key - CB72 switch

There are a few Web sites such as http://hondakeys.com/ that sell Honda keys. It's a bit hit and miss but there appears still to be a selection of NOS and cut by code keys around.

Re: Baffle removal

I agree with tore and add that if you really want to remove the diffuser treat it like any other rust seized part. Use penetrating oil and heat, being careful of the chrome of course. If you do get them out you will find that the carbs will notice. You may have to readjust the idle screw, move the n...

Re: 4into1 electronic ignition kit

It's not clear what you are doing. Is your problem electrical or mechanical? Are you installing the new coils into the original points system? Do you have someone else's electronic ignition system installed? I've never read any one's posting about the coils not physically fitting. Are the coils made...
