Thanks G-Man, I'll try that - hopefully I don't damage anything. Anything I need to know when replacing the needles?

I'm very new to forums. I have a 1966 305 Super Hawk that I would like to know how to remove the needles from the speedo. I have taken the speedo apart and I'm not sure how to remove the 2 needles. I have purchased a new speedo backing and I need to remove the needles to replace the backing. Thanks
