CB72 Chainguard mounting question

When properly mounted, does the chainguard "straddle" the back part of the engine sidecase, or does the sidecase go on the outside of the chainguard?

Thanks,
Mike

CB72 speedo drive

During the teardown, I managed to lose my speedo drive. I went to a wrecking yard and got one off a CB160. It fits, but I'm not sure it's the same unit. This one just fits in the indentation, but it would appear that the old one fit over the indentation. Any thoughts here???

Thanks,
...

Re: What is this part for???

Thanks Matt, now a few more questions...

What is the gizmo under the right carburetor that sticks up through the cover?

Where did you get your Allen screw case bolts?

Are your sidecovers beadblasted or painted?

Thanks,
Mike

What is this part for???

It's a triangular sheped gizmo with two holes in it and it is bolted on top of the crankcase under the carburetors. Do the wires go through it or what? This is on my 1964 CB72.

Thanks,
Mike

Brass Zerk grease nipple on swingarm

I managed to break the tip off of the swingarm axel Zerk fitting. Is it possible to remove the rest of the fitting and replace with a new one? Any suggestions?

Thanks,
ML
