Thanks for the quick reply - I will check one more time. The rubber gasket at the engine end of the cable looked like it had been there for a while and might be suspect. I will also check the the top vent hose.

Oil leak from Tach cable

I have found oil in the headlight bucket and I get an oil spay on my left leg from the tach cable I think. Is that possible? If so, perhaps a vital gasket is missing somewhere. Anybody have any data on what gaskets are in the cable itself. I have taken the cable off the engine and it seems to have a...

I use regular unleaded gas. Works fine for me.

Steve-<br />Just a final note - after getting everything buttoned up and one more test ride, it started to do the same things in 3rd and 4th gear until I realized that I had forgotten to turn the fuel back on.... Absolutely the problem was lack of fuel as you said. Thanks again for all your help.<br...

Well I couldn't do the clear tube method because both drain screws were impossible to get out. I did check that fuel was getting to the carbs ok, no problem with filter or hoses. I adjusted the floats by eye a couple of times and the final adjustment made it work just fine. Not sure if it was a prob...
