Re: CB77 - is it correct?

I believe the last production run of the superhawks came with chrome fenders. look at the gas tank, the latest ones had the crossover hose deleted (Honda's bean counters decided it wasn't necessary so they deleted it). As far as the tank color, ? , all the ones I've seen were painted the frame color.

Re: Loading up at full throttle (sorry so long)

What rear sprocket size?, sounds like it's pulling too high a gear. Maybe add a few teeth on the rear or drop one on the front. These things have to run at 6,000-7,000 rpm to be in the fat part of the torque curve.

Re: Firing on right cylinder only

The dream engines are lower compression, with lower piston domes.

Re: Oil Seals

How too-small are they? There are "Leak Proof" brand name seals out there that are actually a push fit into the fork leg, versus the press fit style, originally installed. Never had a set, have no idea how they work but they claim they work really well.

Re: Firing on right cylinder only

Take the master link off, an attach two pieces of wire to the chain to keep it from getting lost. There is a small"O" stamped in the cam sprocket, it points up with the crank at TDC.

Re: CL77 carb tubes

Do you mean the banjo fitting that is attached to the carb body with a hollow bolt? Both bikes use the same carb bodies, should fit the same.

Re: Firing on right cylinder only

Were the valves adjusted before the compression test? A tight valve will make a big difference in compression #s. Popping in the exhaust can point to a carb sync issue. Maybe a good tune up would be in order before tearing everything apart.
