Get enough slack to drop the cable end out of the brake arm clevis. Pull the cable ass'y toward the engine enough to slide the inner cable throug...

Thanks, Rusty! I plan on using a couple of lawnmower type filters that won't show much. This is more of a rescue than a restoration, so filters, later style cables, electronic ign. kind of stuff will be fine. - Stan

64honda - Where are you located? I'm near Linville on the Parkway. If you're not too far away we can get together and figure it out ( I have some diagnostic stuff). I'm taking two CL77s and making one good one. THANKS - Stan

After cleaning with carb cleaner and blowing the area DRY, you might try spraying the area with foot powder from a spray can. The white powder will show you where the leak is coming from by turning dark at the leak area. THANKS - Stan

Well, LM, I can see how using 30w would let the lube wick up through the felt so the lube would last longer than putting Lubriplate on the wiping edge. Old dogs CAN learn new tricks! THANKS - Stan

General Motors makes a points cam lube that works well. I have used Lubriplate. Lube the felt sparingly. LM may chime in with a better idea. THANKS - Stan
