thanks guys, I managed to break it loose by riding it around the church parking lot across the street, holding the clutch in, and shifting back and fourth from 1st and 2nd. It only took a few shifts. So it got its maiden voyage around my neighborhood at 7:00 saturday morning (probably to the neighbo...

stuck clutch (won't disengage)

I finally got my 305 running, but still can't ride it because the clutch won't disengage. I've tried putting it in gear while on the stand, holding in the clutch, and applying the brake. So far all I've managed to do is kill the engine. This bike was running about 7 years ago, but it sat since then....

I dont usually buy new vehicles either, but after I decided to get back into riding after a 25 year hiatus, my biggest concern was breaking down and getting stuck on a backroad, leaving myself at the mercy of whoever came along. It was a safety thing. I was looking for a solid used bike in the $3000...

I have a friend who has a CBX, in pieces at the moment. He bought it new. He has about 20 other bikes, but only a few that are running. Most of the bike guys I know have several, and it seems like there is always something to fix. I have the same issue, but I lost my patience this year, and found a ...

thanks Bill, I was really lucky to find this bike. It belonged to a former neighbor, I tried to buy it from him years ago, as it was becoming quite derelict as it languished alongside his garage in those days. A few years ago he cleaned it up and got it running, drove it a few miles, and then parked...

Finally some picts of my Superhawk

I hope this works, havent ever tried to add picts on this forum. the only thing I've done since getting the bike last week is to give it a quick bath. I noticed some missing bolts and screws, and as you can see, the air intake boots and air cleaners are missing. Actually they are in a box somewhere ...

Thanks for all of the info guys, I'm going to talk to the DMV and find out if I can get the year on the title corrected. that kind of stuff drives me nuts! I will get some picts of it this weekend, as I want some good "before" shots, even before I start cleaning it up. My goal is to go over the mech...
