Well, after a year of asking you guys stupid questions and pissing and moaning, I took the old '68 CL77 with the '62 CA77 motor on it out for a ride and it was bad ass ! Finally, I JB'ed the tank and carb and got the old gal started and both cylinders firing and it was shifting tight and I WAS IMPRE...

Dream CA77 ignition

I have a '62 dream motor that was running OK til yesterday it wouldn't get any fire coming out of the spark plugs . It s got spark at the points . Is it a bad coil ?- jeff[/list]

I have a '62 dream motor. It was running at least, but then it wouldn't start yesterday. I found no fire coming out of the spark plugs when I hold them onto the block and turn the motor over. Hey thanks for that, but this isn't the idle adj screw- it's the other one. This is a single carb on a CA77. It's a adj. screw on the carb- not the big one that goes into the slot on the slide,and it's broke off flush ! Probably have to get another carb-$!

Hey, could you send me a copy of that carb manuel? I have a '62 CA77 that starts up for a minute, revs up by itself , and then dies !I 've been told it's the carb. Thanks I-angel; I got new fuel line and filter, but still , it fires up and after appr. 30 secs, it revs up and dies. One thing is that I took the choke off because the gasket material around the lever going into the carb body was all rotted away. I sealed it up against vac leaks , but now , no chok...

Hi everybody, I just got my '62 CA77 running ! It starts up , but then dies after a minute. It needs lots of parts but I don't have lots of $, so I want to get it running and use some "know -how" on it intsead of throwing parts at the problem when I don't know exactly what the problem is !
