thanks rob, i upgraded today to a 4 litre bucket i had hanging around. used the cup to prove the principle, anyway... size isn't everything (or so my wonan keeps saying) i think it's because she has a smaller car than me? lol

yeah, snake, fair point. like i say, i'm no chemical/medical or meturaligy student. still getting reasonable results, only day 2, done a few nuts and clips, but my first lot of zinc is still in the bath. looking forward to getting a proper sheet of the stuff. here's my ickle setup:

we have loads of fix-up-your-home stores, i think B&Q is the same company as home-depot. i visited four big named stores, (i fix-up houses a lot, so i knew the stores) none of them could supply me with zinc roofing strips, the looks of puzzlement were amazing! i didn't go into depth about why i want...

hey b, dunno if "D" cells are called that over in the states, they're just disposable batteries that you use in your torch/ flashlight, radio etc. i got some cheap packs from the local discount supermarket, i went for the big ones, think i paid about 50 pence per pack of two. aparently rechargeables...
