Long time no post. So I indeed had the idle and air screws mixed. When I readjusted them I got the bike idling decently, at least enough to take it out for a maiden ride. The tires were low so I set off for the nearest filling station for air. Of course I nearly made it when the back tire got a flat...

So I got back into the points yesterday and I think I have them decently adjusted. After the initial cold start it turns over on the 2nd or 3rd kick dependably now. However I cannot get the bike to idle. It sounds great and there is good pressure out of both exhausts, but as soon as I let off the ga...

Quick update...I bought an impact driver and after some wd40 on the screw I was able to get it loose and open up the points. I'm glad I did not have to use the Dremel but thanks for the advice. To be honest I was confused by the tuning recipe and how to procede with getting them set correctly. I cou...

I was thinking of using my dremel and I think that is what I am going to try. I picked up an impact driver today and I am going to give it a go this weekend. Once I get the points set I should be ready to start her up and see how she runs. Thanks for the input as usual. By the way Aid3nn your work i...

Thanks for the suggestion on the air filters. I am going to pick up that pair from retro bikes that is a good deal. So I got some time with the bike today and I changed out the oil. The only thing left to do was to put in the battery and use Ed Moore'e tuning recipe. However when I went to removed t...

Hello there...I finally got to work on the bike yesterday for a couple of hours. It was a blast! I took out the old battery and I also removed the carbs from the bike (per your instructions G-man) and cleaned them out. They actually looked very clean inside but there was some residue. I also pulled ...
