If you are having trouble getting the broken key out of the lock, try using a #2 fishing hook(Long Shank) straighten it out at the bend and leave the barb alone, push it in on top of the key and twist so barb catches the key and then pull it out.

Good morning Sarals, Like you, haven't been on here for a while. After I finished my CL77, rode it for a little bit and put her in the garage under cover. She has been in several shows including the La Jolla Concourse De Elegance where she strutted her stuff and made us both proud by taking 1st plac...

If you don't like the noise, it can be fixed with very little effort. I had the same issue with mine when they came back from chroming. I drilled a very small hole in the outer rim and injected some epoxy (not a lot ) but just enough to coat the rust balls. When the epoxy dried, the rattle was gone.

Your welcome. The only other way that I know of is to send both to Foreign speedo in San Diego and they can do it for you. Cost is usually about $125 and they should be able to fix one or both. They do a lot of the old stuff and are very good.

Good luck

I opened mine using a screwdriver using very light pressure so as not to crack the chrome bezel. Pry up easy, a little at a time, working all around the bezel, be slow and deliberate, you may have to go around several times to get it so it will come off. Try not to mar it too much.

You might try to spin the speedometer with a drill and some type of an attachment that will fit into the speedometer and see if it spins and if the speedometer registers speed. If it does, the problem is probably not the speedometer.

Foreign speedometer repair in San Diego will probably be able to fix you up. May take awhile, but they did my 66 cl77 speedometer and it works great. Been there for a long time and they do all kinds of bike speedos.
