Re: CA77 Throttle cable routing

The new cable seems to be too short, anyone else ever run into this? When I say too short the cable reaches the throttle grip area fine but I have to pull the inside of cable out (basically opening the throttle) to get it to attach to the slider doohickey and since I have to pull it out the engine ...

Thanks to all for the help

I picked up a '67 S90 last week. The S90 was the first motorcycle I ever owned, 13 motorcycles ago in 1967, and I forgot just how much -FUN- it was to drive. Kinda makes you want to go out and turn donuts in the dirt (if you know what I mean). So... the "Big Dog" (CA77) is on Craigslist which will a...

Just a follow-up to my posting above. The new head gasket with a light coating of Halomar HPF is in and staying leak free. :-)

Ok, I got a after market head gasket from Ohio Cycle in the mail yesterday and the two green O-Rings. This gasket was about the same thickness (1.23mm) as the other new one I had used which leaked (1.24mm D&K) so I used a thin film of some Permatex Halomar HPF on the gasket around the edge of the ca...

Well I dropped the motor and pulled the head. The gasket was covered in oil, but as others had said on here that probably happens the minute the seal is broken on removing the head. The gasket "looked" like new and so did the O-Rings. It's a mystery. I'll order up a new gasket on Monday as well as n...

FWIW I'm having the same issue on my "Refreshed" CA77. New Head Gasket & O-Rings, both were non-NOS. No adhesive was used on the gasket, but I did put Hylomar on the O-Rings. Torqued to 15lbs and retorqued over the next few days. Got it installed and fired up last week. Ran thru the warm-up / cool-d...

Rear of Starter Sprocket rubbing on case

I'm reassembling my CA77 motor and when I slide the Starter Sprocket on the crankshaft, it goes on far enough to bottom out against the case. I measured the distance from the surface of the case (where the sprocket rubs) to the crankshaft roller bearing at 9.49mm and the height of the Sprocket shoul...
