loud mouse carb rebuild

i just posted this over in the dream section. got my carb back from loud mouse. looks brand new inside and out. very impressed. I also got a chance to speak with the man- what a cool guy! if your struggling with your carb, and he's willing to take it on, it's a very easy choice.

I just wanted to tell everyone about the wonderful job loud mouse did on my carb. I couldn't believe it was the same carb I sent him. yes, with the clutch plates removed, the rear wheel turns while in gear. also the ball bearing is present. How long should the push rod be? i guess i'm trying to figure it out, with as much certainty as possible, then replace the problem. I wish my resources were such that I could just start replaci...

took the cover off. kickstarter comes off with cover, but then everyone but me knew that ; ) . lots of old goop and gunk, but everything seems to be there, including the ball bearing. it doesn't come out of the threaded metal piece, nor does it seem to spin. is this right?
