I took it apart and put some lite oil on the bearing and spring and greese on the cable. it works great. Went for a 25 mile ride and it was perfect. thanks so much for the tip!

It seems to turn freely and its not stuck at 110 so I am going to try to lube it up. Thanks for advice!

I have a 1967 CB77, I bought a new speedometer cable and hooked it up for the first time since owning the bike. everthing seemed to be working fine for the first 20 miles, but then it started to bounce wildly, then peg out to 110 mph and make a mild grinding noise. Wow, that is a very nice looking bike!!!! I have spent 6 months trying to restore mine to an original look, but after seeing yours maybe I should have taken a different route. Oh Well, maybe my next one

P.S. anyone need a CL77 speedometer gear assembly

Does anyone know if a speedometer gear assemby (the part that goes on the front tire) from a 1964 CL77 fit on a 1967 CB77.
