CA77 pistons in a CB77

Hello all, I was reading an old thread about using CA77 pistons in a CB77. From what I understand, there should be no problem using them, and I can expect a slight increase in power. I was afraid the full dome of the CA77 pistons may interfere with something - valves - head - gasket? And perhaps the...

Hey there lm, I noticed it on page 46, E-14, Left Carburetor. Its kinda lost on the page. But in the upper left of the exploded view there is the assembly view - labeled #1. See attached scan... But I have seen Hawks without them too. I'm not sure what to think... Is there a way to post a small movi...

Dream Poster Child

Hey Sparg - thanks and thanks! Shooting with a Canon EOS-1ds.( An older pro digital) w/ 100mm lens that makes for short focus. I read the reference thread and went straight to my parts manual and found the carb's exploded view does show the overflow tube. I think its just a safety thing... Here's a ...

Sound bite tomorrow

Hey thanks guys - the air hoses are connected to the air filters. The white-ish tubing in the pic is the carb overflows... Would bad piston rings make noise? I looked around in the forum and someone said these motors can be noisy.I think I'll post a sound bite tomorrow and see if that helps in the d...

She's purring but ringing...

Hey there Kustom, Thanks for the reply! Yes, I think you could be right. I've heard about something like that happening to other Superhawks. My noise almost sounds like a small piece of metal dinging around. But it runs so well its hard to believe that could be true. So you don't think piston slap a...

noisy motor after warm-up

Hello all! I've recently put my old cb77 back on the road and just love this thing! Although it runs and drives beautifully, the engine is quite noisy after warm-up. Sort of a loud ringing, maybe... It has about 22,000 miles on what I believe is an unopened engine. And it gives off a very subtile am...
