This won't help get the carb off but I wanted to add that what you have labeled an "air vent" is actually an overflow so that if the floats are adjusted too high then the excess fuel will drip out of that tube and down the hose which you mention should be attached.

Need helmet hook ideas for a Dream CA77

I was just wondering if anyone here has fabricated something or found a decent secured way to hang a helmet on their CA77 or similar bike for those times when it becomes really inconvenient to lug it around for a walk around town etc. Perhaps there is one there that I've missed...

This may be obvious but it's what happened to me: have you adjusted the length of the throttle cable down at the adjuster?
