Motorcycle Consumer News did an in depth study of many motorcycle and car oils around 2003 I believe but I can't find my copy.
It measured and explained the many additives in each brand and was very informative also.

Red is always good on a Honda.

Honda used a Fire Engine Red on some 2004 Goldwings that was stunning!

He should apply for a replacement title, so he can legally sell it to you!

Hard to say for sure, my "66 titled" 305 is 2,000 earlier in serial number than your proposed purchase, but there is no clear serial number cutoff for later year models. They were usually titled the year they were sold.

They fit many different models, should be able to get them at any honda dealer or parts outfit.

If the wiring is similar to the 305, a shorted rectifier sends unfused battery current straight to ground, causing barbequed wiring with dramatic smoke effects!

A $3.85 Radio Shack Rectifier can be used to replace the old one.
