Hi Maia, Thanks for posing the question, i have exact same one on my Superhawk resto.

Loudmouse, thanks a million as always for the answer, it's exactly what i needed,
including what to do with the vent pipe from the top of the head.

a tube of silicone grease and will let you know how i go!

Thanks Guy's, am going to try the Silicon Grease first and if that fails - it's the mower shut-off.

Hi Joe,

Have had same problem with petcock kit i just installed, rubbers took 5 days to freeze the petcock.
Are you still running the mower shutoff, or have you found another fix since this post?
