A Motobatt MB9U will last at least twice as long as a lead-acid YUASA and is worth the price in my opinion. Google around for best price, you'll probably find it on eBay.
I use red loctite on terminal screws and tighten the heck out of them as they tend to vibrate loose.

shortThe wire to the starter button is hot, pushing it grounds circuit to operate starter. Take housing apart again and make very sure the wire is not grounding out. Things are very tight in there. I ended up filling the cavity with liquid electrical tape on mine.
valve clearance?Might want to recheck your valve clearances. I had a similar issue, turned out to be a too-tight exhaust valve.
