More good info. Thanks Paul. I am completing a 2 year restoration on a 66 Scrambler, and delayed the tank painting to the last. I need to get going on this. Thanks again

Thanks for your reply, Mike. I will have at it. I'm wondering if it would help to apply some heat for reinstallation?? First I have to get it off in good shape! Your instructions were fine

Removal of "plastic pads" on gas tank

Is there a preferred way of removing the pads from the gas tank? How are they attached? I don't want to damage anything in the removal process. At times I can be good at that!!

My thanks again. You really know your "stuff". So if I'm reading you correctly, the stator in the parts bike will work in the Hawk? I will be testing as per your instructions.

Thank you sir for your reply. I have lots of questions regarding this project. Were the original tank badges on a 66 Scrambler metal or plastic? I'm guessing metal. Also, did all 305's including Superhawks and Dreams use the same stator? If so, is there any trick to removal? I also have a 67 parts b...
