clutch plates cb77

Post by kawonda750 » Sun Feb 18, 2018 12:14 pm

Engine number CB77E 1052391

There were 5 steels and friction plates on this bike. There were no little rings which I see in the parts diagram. 22431 259 000.

I saw a clutch set on ebay that shows 5 steels and plates. Is this correct? Do I need the little rings? Do I need more plates?

I'd say ya have a 1966 bike and it came with the Cush Drive clutch.
4 of the steel should have cut out in the center circle to lessen warping.
The friction disc should be aluminum with black neoprene contact area.
If I'm correct all ya should need to do is clean/wash the parts.
Wire wheel clean the steel plates, use parts cleaner (not carb cleaner) on all the parts.
Don't worry about the missing wires unless you want to.
Any questions call me at 830-895-0654. ......................lm

Say LM I am curious what you recommend as parts cleaner? I asked around at several parts places today and they looked at me like I was crazy. One guy suggested Sea Foam.

I use carburetor cleaner that comes in a 5 gallon can.
Not cheap but works for a long time. ………….lm
