CL77 305 Timing And Camshaft Position Question
CL77 305 Timing And Camshaft Position QuestionSo I'm rebuilding my 1968 305 CL77 engine and this has me stumped...
Lets start with timing..... With the Rotor at F the camshaft mark is in the 6 o'clock position. Correct? After 360 degree rotation of the rotor (returned on the F mark) the camshaft mark is at the 12 o'clock position and I need to hold the vise grips so the rotor doesn't turn. Is this correct? ....Onto valve-train/ lash.... I can only check my valve clearance on the T mark for cyl. 2 if the cam is in the correct position, the piston at TDC of course. If the camshaft is not in the correct position i need to roll the engine 180 degrees over and still piston #2 at TDC will allow valve lash to be measured. Something seems a miss, hope you guys can help... Thanks, Chris
