Rebuilt engine seizedHere are Greg's pictures, delivered via Flickr.
The full album is here https://www.flickr.com/photos/63154743@N00/? This looks like it got pretty warm.... Starter sprocket bush was seized to the shaft but had an independent oil supply from the bearing.. Bearing chiseled(?) apart.... Which failed first, the oil supply or the bearing cage? Oil feed clear and locating peg in place. Oil hole position is correct for roller bearing. G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72

Hi Greg, is it possible that the bearing locating pin has not held the bearing in its correct position in relation to the oil supply hole? Then the bearing rotated a little on engine startup and blocked the oil supply. The locating pin looks like a small diameter version and the bearing locating hole looks large. Also the pin looks low in the case. Maybe the pictures are distorting it. Never seen anything like that before though.
Good luck with it. Brian.
You might be on to something there, Brian......
I'll have a look at the other photos that Greg sent me.... G
