62 Dream almost done62 Dream almost doneThis Dream came from New Hampshire and was about 75% rust. The headers and wheels actually had rust holes. I was soon to find out that 1962 parts could be difficult to find. The seat is from an 1965 and modified to fit a 62 - Most all chrome is new or restored and re-plated. Note it has carb covers, rear rack and a tire pump. Everything works except the starter clutch which I will soon be repairing.
Dream doneAbout 4 months - lots of rust remover and sandpaper - paint is base plus clear - hard time finding some parts because it is a 1962
Dream doneWell, stock mufflers that are in decent shape are hard if not impossible to find. Most of them I see are worse than mine and have crazy prices. There are some I am leaning towards - Occasionally I have used Harley touring mufflers - they can be had fairly cheap on Craigs list.
The basic problem is how to mount them -
I have those mufflers on my 63 Dream. I love them and they have a great sound. However after about 8 years, they are starting to pit a little bit. They aren't that expensive and I will be replacing mine soon with the same set. :)
