Yo, Finally got the cb77 really chiming. Pulled the plugs after a good blast yesterday, one was as white as a virgins thigh the other like a dusky maidens.
Everything is new, coils, condensers, leads points, all new jets and needles and the carbs are sympathised to the nth degree. The only variable I can think of is the ignition timing. Could that be the cause of the disparity i.e. one burning early the other late, or could it be something to do with the symmetry of the heads and thus the best that can be done.

Sounds like a rich condition. I suppose you could see which detent your C clips are on with each slide needle. To lean it out, drop the needle one more notch. Carb float level is worth checking also in the offending carb. Some might question which carb kits you've used (Keyster maybe?). Common problem it seems is with the Keyster slide needle being thinner or tapered different than the Honda OEM causing a rich mixture. Plug gap, air leaks are culprits too. Lastly, I think good combustion gives a slightly tan/brownish plug. Be sure to post your success when you have it.
