Update...
Okay guys the clutch plates came loose and release all the way, the transmission shifts throuh all four gears and neutral. The tires inflated and hold air! The engine isn't spinning over yet but I'm not in a rush. Inside of the gas tank looks like a coral reef but there aren't any thin spots or holes. So I'm either going to find another gas tank or get the original cooked and lined.

Do these engines have a one piece cam chain or is there a master link?

Yes I know I know its been a while but...
It turned out the the reason the engine was so tight was because there was a little bit of rustaround the top of the pistons. Unforunatly we had to cut the timing chain to get the head off (masterlink was at the very bottom >:[...). So if any one has a spare chain, oreven an extra mastr link from one they cut, let me know.
