Would these be a good match to the original tires?
http://www.vintagetyres.com/item/569/35 ... -universal Currently have 2 different types of tires mounted, so thinking of fitting a new pair. I've had a pair of Chen Shings on my CL77 since I restored it some eight years ago, had to replace the rear after about 3000 miles but liked it enough to fit another one.
They have a good period look although not like the (Japanese made ) Dunlop Trials Universals that were original fitment when the CLs were new. Rear is a 3.50 x 19" 57N. I can check front one if anyone's interested. I'd describe my riding style as 'brisk' but these tyres inspire confidence and I've never felt that they were approaching the onset of the dreaded 'skid demon' I'd certainly recommend them for anything other than genuine 'off road' use. You might struggle to find them as they are now marketed as 'Mitas' tyres although they still say 'Chen Shing' on the sidewall! Thanks Paul.
The small harness in the center is NOS. My main harness was in pretty decent shape so it was a pretty easy fix. Anyone who can tell me if there is a clear visible difference between the different types of rear grab bars? Want to buy one, since mine has broken off inside the frame tubes. I bought one from Classic Honda Restoration on a close-out that was too narrow for my '67 CL77. Not sure, if it was made wrong or if there was a design change from earlier models. I ended up repairing and re-chroming my original. Paul
