CB77 Tail Light/Brake Light

Post by RobMcKay » Fri Jun 24, 2016 11:07 pm

Hi all,
I have been picking at this for a few days and can't seem to figure it out.

I have a 1964 CYB77 (no lights/electrical) and will be riding it on the street so have to add a tail light and a headlight to make it street legal here in Alberta. Headlight not installed yet

I added an original CB77 wiring harness and will add a small headlight under the front number plate.

My issue is, when the ignition is in the ON position, the brake light will not come on when depressing the pedal. If I position the key to the far right(rearward) position it works fine.

I wondered if its because the wires are not connected on the headlight?

Hope you have some input.

Thanks,

Rob

With the key in the rearward position (parking lites only) I believe is a separate circuit than the brakelite circuit with the key in the run position. Study that wiring diagram.

Rob, have you checked to confirm that the brake light switch is good?

Are all the wires connected to another wire.
If not what does your wiring diagram show they make work?. ...............lm

Just in case you do not actually have a wiring diagram, find it here. It's the second one on the page:
