Engine Mods? What's out there now?

I'm sure that performance mods have been covered more than once on this site, but what's available now? Back in the day, you could get Yoshi stuff, Webco stuff and other goodies, but I can't seem to find anything available today? I've found the 358cc big bore kit from Bore Tech, and possibly a few cam choices from Megacycle. Is theres anything else out there? Hoping Teaser and LM have a few things to say.

A couple of sellers have pistons and/or liners for big bore kits.

Nova in the UK will sell you a 5 speed trans and there are a couple of UK sellers with duplex primary drives.

Megacycle have cams

Kibblewhite sells valve guides, spring kits and valves and keepers

Any GL1000/CB450 etc electronic ignition from DYNA and others will fit or I can sell you a race only Motoplat that Todd Henning modified for me and has never been run. You could also fit an Ignitech and go all electronic programmable. I think that HPI have an ignition that could be made to fit too.

Coils are available from lots of places.

Wheel rims, brake linings and spokes from MikesXS, Vintage Brake and Buchanans respectively.

TZ tank can be made to fit or make your own.

Mikuni carbs are available and so are Keihin 28mm CB750 carbs but you need to make up manifolds.

Webco etc stopped making parts for our bikes back in the sixties I think. Harmon and Collins also no longer exist.

What else are you looking for?

I'm not looking for anything super crazy, just curious as to what is available. I was originally going to do the big bore kit, but I think I'm just gonna do a megacycle cam and stick with the stock CCs, but upgrade the pistons and possibly send the head out and get it flowed? just wanting a different CB77 this time since it's my 3rd one.

If you want something really different, get the 5-speed transmission. I think of all the things I've done over the years - 358 kit, port and polish the head, Amal carbs etc etc etc - nothing has made more of a difference than the 5-speed NOVA transmission.

Did you go with the road or race box? Any idea what the road box ratios are? They don't seem to list them.

It appears that the NOVA site has a typo. The road ratios are: 2.782 / 1.729 / 1.383 / 1.170 / 1.000. The race ratios are: 1.903 / 1.420 / 1.212 / 1.081 / 1.000. Regards, Chase

I went with the road set. I believe I have the fifth one they made. My mechanic did have to 're-engineer' a bushing that they made out of steel, and it should have been bronze.

Super-happy with it - only thing about it is that you lose the kickstart, so you have to rely on the electric start, or bump starting if you need to.
