CB77 brake shoes - where to buyCB77 brake shoes - where to buyHello there my name is Scott, how's it going?
I would like to buy new brake shoes for front and rear of my CB77 as the brakes come on very suddenly and strongly when applied. I will start with new shoes and then try to get the adjustment right. Are the shoes from David Silver any good or do you folk have another suggestion of where to buy them. Thanks for your time Scott Scott, I don't want to confuse the issue. My knowledge of brake shoes & drums is limited. I do know that Classic Honda Restoration sells shoes for "large hub models". See http://www.classichondarestoration.com/ ... od_29.html
The subject about drum size has come up here before. See http://www.honda305.com/forums/front-wh ... 36003.html. That short discussion seemed to indicate that there was no difference in drum size, but leaves me asking why someone is selling large drum brake shoes for CBs if there is no difference. If no one here on the forum has answers (and I know someone here has that knowledge), call Tim at Classic Honda Restoration and ask. Don't pull your drum apart until you do. I'm sorry if I've made your problem more difficult.
G'day and thanks for your time responding
I did the fork seals the other night and while it was aprart I had a look for the first time since I've had this bike why the front brakes grab like a barstard. If there are over size shoes available I reckon 100% that's what I need. Tim thanks man. The drums aren't rusty but the shoes not sure. They look cool and dry. It seems that they move a fair bit before they contact the drum and then by that stage they are at an angle where they almost jam on. I've just been cleaning out the tank and doing the fork seals and getting to ride this again. Have a good one Scott
CB77 BRAKE SHOESThe very first issue CB77 came with Single Leading shoes in the front so the size for those is different than ALL the following years.
Large Small! That will come from the CL77 as the first year had Smaller Single Leading shoes then around 1966 the CL77 went to the Big Brake shoe/hub. It is the same shoe as the CB77. ...............lm
